Chris Broussard: “I’ve always said that it was Brady MORE than Belichick.”
Rob Parker: “That’s where I disagree when you look at their defenses and what they were able to do defensively.”
Broussard: “I’ve never taken anything away from their defense, but I just call it like I see it. Brady, in all six of their championships led game-winning drives. It may have ended with a field goal, but you didn’t start in field goal position, he LED them into field goal position.”
Parker: “In the last three Super Bowls they didn’t give up any points in the fourth quarter… Belichick won without Brady when he was the defensive coordinator for the Giants… They stopped the Rams, who were the fifth greatest offense in the history of the NFL, and held them to three points in 2019… When they beat the ‘Greatest Show on Turf’, they held that Rams. who were a double-digit favorite in the Super Bowl, to 13 points. I’m not saying Brady didn’t have a hand in it, but he also had one of the greatest kickers who was also involved. If Adam Vinatieri misses three field goals, no one says Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever, despite leading them to get into position. He had to get help, and the defense was a bigger part… When I look at Brady’s numbers inside of Belichick, like the first Super Bowl they won, Tom Brady had one touchdown in the ENTIRE postseason. Defense was the reason that those three championships happened [the most recent three]. If the defense doesn’t shut the other team down in those last three Super Bowls, Brady doesn't a chance to do it.” (Full Segment Above)
