Colin Cowherd: Tom Brady Was Never Meant to Play in New England

Colin Cowherd: “Tom Brady’s brand is clean-cut, it’s clean living. Yoga, Avocado ice cream – wholesome. No drama, focus… In New England we thought he was stoic, and part of a system, but in Tampa he’s off-brand, and taking these unnecessary risks. Or is he? Or is this who Tom Brady has always been? He was just conforming to New England. Derek Jeter always felt like New York. Troy Aikman always felt like Dallas. Tom Brady never felt like Boston, he just conformed… Boston is the most paroquial city in the country. Tom is aspirational, he married a supermodel, he’s creating a global brand, he has houses in Costa Rica and Montana. Tom has always been about growth, adapting, and evolving. That's not Boston. Boston is you work hard, make a decent living, maybe buy a summer home on the cape, or maybe Maine. That’s about as far you’ll leave minus an occasional vacation down to Florida. Tom is fun and happy. Boston is cranky and intense. Listen to Tom Brady’s lifestyle brand, does it sound like Florida? No drinking, avocado ice cream, lots of yoga. That doesn’t say Boston, it says California. Tom Brady was never Boston, Belichick is. Brady conformed for 20 years. Brady’s brand is no drinking – Boston is defined by Sam Adams. I don’t buy that ‘Tom has changed’, this is closer to who he is.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he doesn’t think Tom Brady was ever a good match with the city of Boston and the New England area, as Colin says Brady’s natural personality traits have finally fully come out in a much looser atmosphere in Tampa.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he believes Brady and the Patriots were never very compatible on a personal level, and that Tom was simply forced to conform.
