Colin Cowherd: It's Time Tua Proves He Can Win Games Without Being Coddled

Colin Cowherd: “The NFL is all about DISCOMFORT, and when you’re at a national power like an Oklahoma, Clemson, Alabama, or Ohio State, it’s all about ‘comfortable’ and you rarely get hit. Last week, Tua, who was comfortable in college at Alabama – great running game, great coach, great stars, NFL guys on the offensive line, was comfortable against the Rams. He had two weeks to prepare, but now he gets just one against Arizona. He was home against the Rams, now he’s road against Arizona. He got a defensive touchdown, and a couple special teams touchdowns last week, but he won’t get those against Arizona. Miami’s starting running back Myles Gaskin is out. NOW is the test on Tua. Last week and his college career has all been about comfort… I love Arizona this week. Tua I was totally for, but I watch his first week, and I watch his college experience and I think ‘God, this guy’s life is just comfort.’ He played at a high school in Honolulu who was a powerhouse and won 11 games every year. Alabama wins 11 games every year too. Last week he got all sorts of help from the defense and special teams. THIS is really Tua’s first start. You can’t coddle anymore… Watch the Miami staff this weekend, I think they’re going to test Tua. He may pass with flying colors, but they’re going to put him into spots to fail. That’s what they’ve been doing for a year and a half in Arizona with Kyler Murray, and the reason he’s a star and mostly has passed with flying colors.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Tua Tagovailoa’s start this weekend against the Cardinals is going to be his first massive test, and possibly even the first time he goes into a start, including high school or college, that he’s not going to be coddled and greatly elevated by either the coaching staff protecting him or saved by his team’s elite personnel.

Check out the video above as Colin thinks Tua is going to have to win a shootout this weekend against the league’s number one scoring offense Arizona, as Colin believes this is going to be a huge game into seeing if the Dolphins really trust this rookie as their franchise QB.
