Colin Cowherd: Tom Brady's Super Bowl Hopes Officially Ended on Sunday

Colin Cowherd: “Here’s the big problem in Tampa this morning. They’re a fifth seed and a Wild Card team. Saints beat them twice. As of this morning, Tampa would have to go on the road three times to get to the Super Bowl. They’d have to go to Philadelphia and face Carson Wentz, then go to New Orleans and face Sean Payton and Drew Brees in the Superdome, then you’d have to beat Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson in Seattle. That AIN’T happening. Brady never won back-to-back road playoff games in New England, and that was with Belichick, great defenses, and outstanding top 5 offensive lines. He’s got the defense, but he doesn’t have the O-Line he had in New England, or the coach… Brady is not getting to a Super Bowl with Tampa. They’re still really good, but so much in sports is your path… New England’s path for 20 years was Jets, Dolphins, and Bills – 5-1, bye, and home playoff game. That was a huge component to their success. You’re not winning three straight roadies against Super Bowl winning coaches. Tampa Bay is out on the Super Bowl run. They’re not winning a Super Bowl with that, unless the Saints go into the tank. As long as Drew Brees is upright and Sean Payton is coaching that’s not going to happen.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes Tampa Bay’s humiliating 38-3 loss to New Orleans officially knocked the Bucs out of Super Bowl contention, as Colin doesn’t believe Tampa could win three consecutive road games in the playoffs, given they are unlikely to make up two games with 7 remaining to pass the Saints in the NFC South.

Check out the video above as Colin details why New England’s ace up their sleeve to reaching Super Bowls was always securing home field advantage and never having to go on the road in the postseason.
