Clay Travis: “The absurdity afoot at Vanderbilt over a kicker continues to baffle my mind every time I see one of these stories. ‘Vanderbilt senior student Sarah Fuller was named this week's nominee for the Capital One Orange Bowl FWAA Courage Award.’ They gave her the ‘courage award’ for a crappy kickoff to start the second half. This is, and continues to be, absolutely ridiculous, and we’re living in an upside down world. I don’t even know what is going on when people are getting awards for literally the worst kick to open the second half that happened anywhere in college football. There is a player revolt beginning at Vanderbilt because they know this was all a sham, all a stunt, and it was designed to appeal to the stupid ‘blue checkmark’ WOKE brigade on Twitter, and that there was no reason whatsoever for Sarah Fuller to actually kick. This is a sham, it’s a stunt, it’s an embarrassment to Vanderbilt, and it’s an embarrassment to anyone with a functional brain who has been able to see through it. This is a total mockery of football… Vanderbilt should be ashamed of themselves, and all of the journalists out there carrying water for this ridiculous sham, and treating it as if it’s anything other than a stunt should be ashamed of themselves as well. This is the height of inauthenticity, and the height of farce.” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Clay Travis explain why he thinks the entire Sarah Fuller story is a media-driven sham, as Clay believes the women’s soccer goalie’s historic appearance as a football kicker was one of the most ridiculous and inauthentic stunts in college football history.
Check out the video above as Clay details why the whole thing was an embarrassment to Vanderbilt, and simply a PR stunt to save head football coach Derek Mason’s job by getting him brownie points with the ‘blue checkmark woke brigade' on Twitter, when really it had no strategic purpose whatsoever.
