The Raiders Could Have a Big Decision to Make This Offseason at Quarterback

Clay Travis is reacting to what was a wild ending in Thursday Night Football. The Chargers outlasted the Raiders in overtime, but the story of the game was the early injury to Derick Carr, and how well Raiders backup quarterback Marcus Mariota played stepping in for Carr.

Carr went down early in this game with what looked like a groin injury, and Marcus Mariota, who the Raiders paid a lot of money to this offseason to be the backup, stepped in and played a really nice game.

Mariota was able to spread the ball around, and found Darren Waller seemingly whenever he wanted, including on a long touchdown pass in the first half. Mariota was also incredibly effective running the football and converting on key 4th downs, as he rushed for nearly 100 yards.

Clay believes that the Raiders could have a big decision this offseason to make. The Raiders are already locked in to Mariota next year for about $10 million, and if Derek Carr stays, he will be about a $22 million dollar hit to the cap. What should the Raiders do? Which direction should they go to at the quarterback spot moving forward?

Clay goes to Twitter and asks that very question in a poll. Results from the over twenty thousand votes so far may surprise you.
