They both resist the idea that race had anything to do with his release from the Washington Football Team and instead point to systemic issues that resulted in Haskins being ill prepared for the life of an NFL player. While Haskins ultimately has only himself to blame, the recruiting process and sense of entitlement bestowed upon him at an early age certainly contributed to his downfall.
