Colin Cowherd: Josh Allen is More Valuable than Patrick Mahomes

Colin Cowherd: “Josh Allen is a longshot for MVP and I don’t think he’s going to win it, but it’s kind of ridiculous that he’s not in the same class as Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers. ‘Valuable’ to me means ‘what do you work with?’ and ‘how important are you?’ Mahomes works with a tight end having the greatest tight end season ever, a wide receiver with 12 touchdowns and 1,500 yards who’s the fastest player in the NFL, and a head coach in Andy Reid who’s probably the best play-caller of the last 20 years. Aaron Rodgers works with an offensive line who’s number one in pass protection, a wide receiver who leads the league in TD receptions, a running back who’s the fourth leading rusher, and a young, clever, and progressive offensive coach. Josh Allen works with Stefon Diggs and that's where it ends. His offensive line is the worst of the three and average, his running back is slightly below average, his head coach is defensive-minded, and the tight end is a non-factor. It’s not the ‘Best Player Award’, it’s the ‘Most Valuable.’ He’s also the most valuable asset to his team’s overall offense; he’s got 8 rushing touchdowns along with his 34 passing touchdowns, so he’s intricate and important to their running game. He’s just doing more with less… I would vote for Aaron for MVP, but I would vote for Josh in a close second. He’s as important and working with less than Aaron, with a defensive coach… It’s ridiculous this is not a three-man race for MVP, and it’s ridiculous that you can’t even put him in second without getting pushback.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he has Josh Allen number two in his NFL MVP ballot ahead of Patrick Mahomes, and why he thinks it’s ridiculous that the MVP race is effectively only featuring Aaron Rodgers and Mahomes in a two-party race.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks Allen is more ‘valuable’ to his team’s success than Mahomes.
