Colin Cowherd: “Over the last decade the Steelers have three playoff wins over AJ McCarron, Matt Moore, and Alex Smith. Welcome to the REALITY of the Pittsburgh Steelers. This morning at noon I’d move off Big Ben… According to reports, there are going to be 17 regular- season games next season. With a preseason game and a playoff game included, does Big Ben look like a 19-game season quarterback?? If you don’t move off Big Ben you deserve all this. He’s not a Brady or Brees 38 years old… Big Ben looks overweight and he’s not into details. If your offseason is beers and an occasional yoga class THIS is what you look like… Stop living in the past. Next year we got 17 games minimum. Old, slow, plotting, unprepared… You can blame Mike Tomlin, he deserves a lot of heat too, but in the end, we know the reality of this organization is that they don’t fire head coaches, and we know the reality of what they are at quarterback. With Brees it’s his last year, and with Rivers it’s probably his last or next to last year. Ben looked worse than both by far. It’s time to stop being a sports romantic. Move on, or don’t complain when your seasons continue to end like this.” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Steelers need to move off Ben Roethlisberger right now, as the Steelers have an uncertain future coming off a humiliating playoff loss to the Browns and a historically bad second half that saw them lose 4 of their final 5 games after beginning the year 11-0.
Roethlisberger’s 501 passing yards vs. Cleveland were mostly empty, as Big Ben attempted a playoff record 68 passes, and threw four interceptions during a game where the Browns were playing a consenting prevent defense for most of the second half.
Check out the video above as Colin details why he believes there’s no way the Steelers can depend on an upright Big Ben in 2021, as the league is expected to extend its regular season to 17 games next year.
