Hey Raiders, Nobody Wants Derek Carr

Hey Raiders, Nobody Wants Derek Carr
Ben Maller: “Reports out of Vegas are reporting that Derek Carr is a ‘hot commodity’, and implying that the Raiders could get multiple first-round picks… The most intriguing part of this was the line that Derek Carr is a ‘hot commodity.’ I’m not buying that. I’m drinking the Kool-Aid that Derek Carr is readily available and could be traded, but I will flatly reject the idea that he is a ‘hot commodity.’ Carr is a ‘serviceable’ quarterback and I have him planted in the mid-tier. He’s right in the middle of the bell curve. He’s in that ‘middling’ class with Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo, and Matthew Stafford. They are JAGS, but not Jacksonville Jags, we’re talking about J-A-G, JUST ANOTHER GUY. He’s very average in almost every way and unremarkable. They are baseline quarterbacks who occasionally perform at a high level… You can catch lightning in a bottle with them, but you also get the stinkers mixed in.” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Ben Maller explain why he’s not buying the reports that the Las Vegas Raiders are fielding Derek Carr trade offers in exchange for two first-round picks, as Maller says the ‘average' and ‘unremarkable’ Carr is simply JUST ANOTHER GUY, and not good enough to warrant multiple top picks in a deal.

Check out the audio above as Maller details why the market for Carr has massively been inflated by a Raiders team still trying to get a package together for Deshaun Watson.
