Jared Goff Finally Speaks Out on the Rams Trading Him to Detroit

This past weekend, a major trade went down that shook up the NFL landscape.

Quarterback Jared Goff talked with Sam Farmer in a recent exclusive interview with the Los Angeles Times to discuss leaving the Rams and heading into a new situation with the Detriot Lions.

“Ultimately, they wanted to go in a different direction,” Goff said. “As the quarterback, as the guy that’s at arguable the most important position on the field, if you’re in a place that you’re not wanted and they want to move on from you, the feeling’s mutual. You don’t want to be in the wrong place. It became increasingly clear that was the case. (The Trade) is something that I’m hopeful is going to be so good for my career.”

Rams are reportedly sending Goff, two future first-round picks, and a third-rounder in this year’s draft to the Lions for quarterback Matthew Stafford. The deal won’t be official until the league’s new year opens in mid-March. It’s the first trade of former No. 1 picks for each other in the modern era and arguably the most significant trade in franchise history around these parts.
