Colin Cowherd: Steelers 'Sold Their Soul' For a Flawed Ben Roethlisberger

Colin Cowherd: “Let me tell you about Big Ben and the TRUTH, and Pittsburgh has known this day 1: he doesn’t commit in the offseason. Jay Glazer joked that his idea of an offseason workout was ‘beers and a yoga workout once a week.’ He’s never been good with film study and it’s gotten worse over time. He’s an average practice player, they run a remedial and unsophisticated audible system catered to Ben, and he struggles with high-profile offensive players. Pittsburgh is a smart organization, they know he should be better at film study, they know he should be more committed in the offseason, and they know he’s too dramatic when anyone gets a little glare on the offensive side. They sold their soul for Ben and here’s where they are – TRAPPED… Pittsburgh sold their soul for Big Ben. They knew he was a crappy practice player, they knew he wasn’t committed in the offseason, they know he doesn’t put in the film study time, but he was so talented that they appeased him, they placated him, they let him get away with it, and now they’re trapped.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Steelers ‘sold their soul’ for Ben Roethlisberger over the latter part of his career, as Colin says Ben’s worst flaws as an uncommitted offseason pushover finally reared its ugly head.

Check out the video above as Colin details how Pittsburgh is paying the price for letting Big Ben get away with skipping out on all the off-field work and preparation that it takes to be an elite quarterback in the NFL, and has mercifully watched him rapidly deteriorate because of it.
