Watch Colin Cowherd play a game of ‘TRUST OR BUST?’ in his ‘Best For Last’ segment, as Colin takes every NFL quarterback aged 25 or younger and rates the amount of trust he has in them as a franchise quarterback from 1 to 5.
Mac Jones – 3/5.
“Two and a half is average so I’m seeing success. The Patriots have the number three ranked offensive line in the NFL, and he has the number one passing grade among rookies in the preseason. Great o-line, running backs, and defense is hard to fail. I see ‘success’ although a low ceiling.”
Zach Wilson – 3/5.
“I think he’s a better talent than Mac Jones, has a great arm, and I think his general manager Joe Douglas is really smart, and he inherits a much better team than Sam Darnold. It’s going to take time. He’s looked really good in preseason, but he hasn’t faced a single starting unit. I could lean more towards the 3 with Mac Jones and more towards the 2 with Zach, but I’ll give him three because he does look good in preseason.”
Drew Lock – 1/5
“Does not have a lot of promise here. I’m probably going a little low but I’m going to give him a one. I just don’t see it working. I don’t think he has the coach, and you’re in a division with Herbert, Mahomes, and Derek Carr. He has three of the top 12 quarterbacks in the league that he has to go up against.”
