Cause for Concern for Trevor Lawrence

RJ Bell: "EPA is expected points added per play. It's a way to grade every play. Trevor Lawrence's EPA is at the very bottom of the league among quarterbacks. But here is what's interesting, we look at garbage time vs. competitive time. If a team has between a 10%-90% chance to win then we say it's competitive, outside of that it's garbage time. Trevor Lawrence, in competitive time, is still at the bottom of the league, but he's better than in garbage time. In fact, his EPA is 4 times worse in garbage time. He's horrible when the game is competitive, and when the game is out of hand, you're playing for pride, facing adversity, well he's done even worse. That does follow the narrative that adversity is not his friend."

RJ Bell and AJ Hoffman believe Trevor Lawrence has been alarmingly bad to start his career. The guys dive into his numbers from his first 2 games and show that much of his counting totals come from garbage time, and even then, his deeper statistics in those moments are just as bad as his numbers in crucial situations. RJ explains why Trevor Lawrence is already showing his struggles of facing adversity.
