Why Flaws in Tom Brady's Season Makes Aaron Rodgers the MVP Front Runner

As we enter NFL week 14 we're just over a month away from the playoffs starting and the picture of the potential MVP is a bit more clearer. Las Vegas MVP odds would tell you that Tom Brady is the favorite with Aaron Rodgers trailing right behind him but is this truly the case?

In the video above, Chris Broussard and Rob Parker are on opposite sides of the debate. While Chris Broussard agrees with the consensus in favor of Tom Brady, Rob Parker believes that Aaron Rodgers' performance in the 2021 season is ahead of what Brady has achieved.

Chris Broussard: "Right now, I think it's Brady and that's not because I picked him as my preseason pick. I think it has to be Brady. He's leading the league in yards per game 314 plus. He's of only 2 quarterbacks over 300 yards per game. He's leading the league in touchdown passes with 34 so he's on pace to hit almost 50. He's had six games this season with four or more touchdowns. THAT'S INSANE! No other quarterback has more than 2 such games...No matter how you slice it, Tom Brady...it's just a clinic when you watch them. It looks so easy. He's got a ton of receivers and he's spreading the ball. Gronk, Evans, Godwin, Brown...the backfield. He's just throwing the ball very well. I don't think there's any doubt he's the MVP right now."
Rob Parker: "Tom Brady is having a very good season. I think his numbers are fugazi, and I don't believe he's the leading candidate for MVP. I would still take Aaron Rodgers' body of work and his type of wins have been bigger than Tom Brady's...Brady's numbers are astronomical because he's playing against really bad teams, including the Falcons and their defense. When I look at Aaron Rodgers' season, it may not be like the year he had last year, but I look at going to Arizona without your top 3 recievers and winning a big game in that situation. 37 seconds left on the road against San Francisco and there's a couple other situations where Rodgers has put together a really consistent year and I think since the first two turnovers, he only has four all year. It's not eye-popping but I think he's played against better teams, situations, and competition."
