Lavar Arrington Says Brian Flores Made the Wrong Decision to Challenge NFL

Lavar Arrington: “What is the ultimate outcome? You’re not going to work in the National Football League again now. Is the ultimate outcome ‘getting paid’? If you lose your job the way that he did, there were a lot of people who had sympathetic thoughts towards his situation in Miami. You could have leveraged and did what Dan Quinn just did. You could have done what Josh McDaniels did. You could have done what any coach who has been fired does. Here’s what you do, you go somewhere like Raheem Morris and build back up to the opportunity, that’s what guys do. To do THIS, you now don’t have that opportunity anymore… Let’s take the ‘discrimination’ a little further. People 'discriminate' on what coaching tree you come from. People 'discriminate' on what offensive playbook or what defensive playbook you’re bringing. People 'discriminate' on what school you attended… What is the ultimate end? That’s what I want to know. Where are you going? Are you done? Like ‘I’m blowing this up, I’m DONE, deuces!’ You couldn’t figure it out a different way? People look at it like Flores did a hell of a job while he was there. He was not a ‘bad’ coach for Miami, meaning you can walk away from that job and people will say ‘It was more Miami than it was Flores’, but now you don’t have that. You don’t have that grace anymore. Now if you touch him, it’s considered to be a toxic and compromising situation of sorts because you could end up being in a lawsuit. I would love to know why did he do it. I’m sure he feels like there is a ton of validity to why he feels the way he feels, but I’d like for that to be disclosed so we can debate that topic, because the ‘racist’ part, the ‘prejudice’ part, you can find racism in anything you do if you want to. You can find prejudice in anything that’s done if you want to. So in the end, what are we really discussing right now?? I want to know why he did it this way, because now you don’t have opportunities in the National Football League, and you may not have it at the college ranks either.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to former NFL player and current Fox Sports Radio host Lavar Arrington discuss Brian Flores’ fall from grace in Miami and subsequent lawsuit against the NFL for supposed racist hiring practices, as Arrington believes Flores took a reckless leap of faith for an outcome that could leave him out of the league forever.

Check out the segment above as Arrington and ex-NFL player and fellow Fox Sports Radio co-host Brady Quinn detail why they think Flores made the wrong move by going ‘code red’ on the NFL when another coaching opportunity was likely right in his grasps.
