During a week where we are celebrating Tiger Woods’ determination to return to competition at the Masters, we lament LeBron James’ laissez-faire attitude about getting back on the court for the Lakers as they try to make the NBA Playoffs. Doug Gottlieb isn’t one to call out athletes who are dealing with injuries, but King James seems to be milking his. Whether he’s sitting out because he is quitting on his team, or because he is trying to protect his scoring title, it’s hardly befitting someone who wants to be considered the G.O.A.T.
Doug Gottlieb: “If you can play, and your team’s season depends on it, and you just sit there and watch in sunglasses, I’ll just say it, like everybody thinks it: no chance Michael Jordan sits there in sunglasses and watches his team lose...no chance Tiger Woods does that.”
