The Brooklyn Nets went all-in to bring enough talent to their roster to help Kevin Durant bring them a championship, including Kyrie Irving. Now Kyrie wants a new contract with a raise and guarantees despite the fact that he played less than half of the season and failed to make the playoffs. He’s put the Nets in a tough spot and now they may be in danger of losing Kevin Durant if they can’t retain him.
Doug Gottlieb: “Kyrie Irving is divisive enough that, if he gets himself traded out of or opts out of his deal and signs somewhere else, that Kevin Durant could be the one to follow him.”
