Colin Cowherd: “I think Jimmy Garoppolo is way better than people think. Is Trey Lance ready?”
Nick Wright: “I don’t know if he’s ready, nobody knows if he’s ready, but they’re obviously making the right decision. It is mystifying to me, I work with a couple of Jimmy G ‘truthers’… like, the whole league doesn’t want him. Is the WHOLE league wrong on Jimmy Garoppolo? There was a market for Baker Mayfield. A minimal one, but there was a market. There is NO market for Jimmy Garoppolo. The Niners went to the Super Bowl and the team looks at their quarterback and says ‘you hurt us not helped us, we’ll trade three first-round picks for your replacement.’ They go to the NFC Championship and the team says ‘you’re never going to take another snap for us.’ The team’s offensive coordinator gets a job in Miami who needs a quarterback so badly they tried to lure Tom Brady into some weird ownership position. The former Niners offensive coordinator who is now the Dolphins head coach doesn’t even want Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy Garoppolo is not a starting quarterback. Garoppolo has four career playoff wins, and has ONE passing touchdown in those four wins. He has FIVE HUNDRED combined passing yards in those four career playoff wins, 125 yards a game. He’s a very, very good backup quarterback, and that’s what he’s about to be. The whole league agrees with me! Why hasn’t anybody traded for him?? Nobody wants him except you [Colin Cowherd], and Subway advertisers.” (Full Segment Above)
Listen to Nick Wright join The Herd with Colin Cowherd to explain why he thinks Jimmy Garoppolo’s fate as an NFL player is ‘very good backup’, as Nick says it’s apparent that there is no market for Jimmy G.
