The Phillies Have A Real World Series Uniform Dilemma

Covino and Rich discuss the rumors that the Philadelphia Phillies are going to wear their throwback powder blue jerseys during Game 5 of the World Series! The guys explain why wearing a throwback uniform from the 1970s-1980s during a World Series game could negate any sense of identity for the 2022 Phillies. But as Covino and Rich allude to, if this is what Philly fanatics want, then this is what they’ll get!

Rich Davis: "The players don’t give a crap, they just want to win. I admit — you want to wear your traditional home jersey in a clinching World Series game if you can. But like LeBron James and the 2016 Cavaliers, they wore those black jerseys with the big “C” on it with the sleeves. That was untraditional and that’s burned into my mind now!"
Steve Covino: "The fans are literally begging for the Phillies to wear their powder blue jerseys, but we’ve seen these jerseys all the time and are herald as one of the best looking uniforms and fans love them. But, you give the fans what they want. They’re the ones that support you and I think you roll with the old uniforms!"
