The Los Angeles Lakers are still on the outside looking in when it comes to the NBA playoff race despite trading away Russell Westbrook and Patrick Beverley and re-acquiring D’Angelo Russell. The idea that these trades brought them any closer to winning it all this season is hardly credible. It’s obvious they were just doing anything they could to get Westbrook out of the building.
Doug Gottlieb: “The trade was simply to get Russell Westbrook out of the building...You’re not winning a championship with one trade, or even two trades. The trade was made to get him out of the building...But the idea that those trades made them a championship team is kind of laughable...”
