Colin Cowherd Says These Three Films Are The Greatest Sports Movies Ever

Colin Cowherd: “There’s three great sports movies ever-- ‘Moneyball’, ‘Rocky’, and ‘Hoosiers.’ Those are great movies, period. Then there’s a half-dozen movies-- ‘Remember the Titans’, ‘Longest Yard’, ‘Brian’s Song’, that are great ‘sports movies’, but in the all-time great Robert Ebert list, ‘Brian’s Song’ and ‘Remember the Titans’ aren’t in it. ‘Hoosiers’ is an all-time great movie. That’s a GREAT movie. I mean, you got Gene Hackman in a movie, he’s not doing slouchy stuff here. Then you got ‘Moneyball’ and you got Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. [Jason McIntyre suggests ‘Any Given Sunday] Oh, c’mon! I love Jamie Foxx but that’s not one of Jamie Foxx’s eight best movies. ‘Remember the Titans’ isn't even in the top seven for Denzel. It’s a good ‘sports movie’, and Denzel is great, but ‘Hoosiers’ is... if I’m talking my 20 best movies ever, ‘Hoosiers’ is going to get considered. It’s the untouchable. It’s maybe not ‘Goodfellas’, or ‘Silence of the Lambs’ but it is a GOOD movie. The rest of those are just sports movies, and our standards are so low. Any Given Sunday?? My standard is high. “Great” is ‘Goodfellas’, ‘Platoon’, ‘Silence of the Lambs’, Scorsese, Spielberg. ‘Hoosiers’, ‘Moneyball’, ‘Rocky’, forget sports, those are great MOVIES.” (Full Segment Above
