The Detroit Lions blew a 17-point lead and lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship last night, but Dan Patrick thinks they should hold their heads high despite the heartbreaking loss. There is no need to second guess the decisions made by Dan Campbell considering he stuck to his guns, which was what got them there in the first place. Besides, any fan would have gladly taken a trip to the NFC Championship if given the option at the beginning of the season.
Dan Patrick: “If I would have said to Lions fans when we started the season, ‘Hey, you’re going to go to the conference title game, but you’re going to lose. You’re going to lose after having a 17-point lead,’ would you say you had a good year? And I hope Lions fans take away the positive from this."
