Martin Weiss joined FOX Sports Radio’s weekend lineup in September 2022 as host of Martin and Veejay on Saturday nights. He also hosts the popular Trollin or Rollin segment on FSR’s weekday program The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker and serves as a fill-in host for Broussard and Parker. Additionally, Weiss hosts the Lemon Pepper Parlay podcast, and is a freelance sports writer.
Weiss started broadcasting upon graduating from the University of Michigan in 2012. He interned at 97.1 The Ticket in Detroit during his last semester in college and was later hired as a phone screener and board operator, before the station gave him the opportunity to host one show a month and cover select events.
Weiss met future mentor and friend Rob Parker in Comerica Park in 2014. Before they both left for Los Angeles, Weiss produced Parker’s Barbershop Sports program for WXYT/WYMD Ch 7/20 in Detroit, which was a new and innovative way to produce sports local news.
Weiss played high school basketball in New Orleans, where DJ Augustin (now a veteran NBA guard) scored 35 points on him in a running clock summer league game. Since that day, he knew he’d have to go pro in something other than playing sports. Luckly, Weiss found a passion for sports commenting at the University of Michigan and the rest is history.
