Jason Smith and Mike Harmon react to the possibility that JJ Redick will be the next head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. The guys break down if hiring JJ Redick will benefit one of the most legendary organizations in sports or if the Lakers will just chew up and spit out yet another head coach!
Jason Smith: "We are inching closer and closer to the likelihood that JJ Redick will be the Lakers head coach. I’m sure there is already an agreement, but ESPN wants JJ Redick to work the finals, so you’re not going to get an announcement... This is a job where you are coming right into the fire and you are expected to win and win big right away, and you have two players who have been incredibly difficult to coach their entire careers. I just don’t see where JJ Redick is going to cut through and be the difference-maker!"
Mike Harmon: "Legitimately, you are trying to build a culture, change out component parts, get whatever (Rob) Pelinka can do to reconstruct the back half of the roster, AND you still have to try to climb up the West, where with those guys playing 70 games each, you barely made the Play-In!"
