The latest comments from JJ Redick have led many pundits to believe that the only reason the Los Angeles Lakers haven’t already hired him as their next head coach is because he is still coaching in the NBA Finals as a commentator. Dan Beyer & Ryan Hollins are in for Doug Gottlieb today and they take a deep dive into the process that has led them to this point. And while LeBron James claims to be keeping his hands out of the search, there can be no doubt that the Lakers are going to do whatever they can to keep him happy and avoid the possibility he could sabotage their next coach.
Dan Beyer: “He’s not keeping his hands out of the coaching search and, even though he says that he is, if they were to hire James Borrego, I think there’s a way LeBron could sabotage that. But instead, they have to appease LeBron’s wishes so he’s happy and that just rocks the boat less...”
