Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce credits "good family and friends" for making things "much easier" when asked about the increased focus on his private life amid his relationship with pop superstar Taylor Swift during an exclusive interview with Good Morning America on Thursday (June 6).
“I’ve always been a very grounded guy, it might not come off like that when I’m playing football, but off the field, I just want to be a genuine person," Kelce said. "I try not to get too far down the road because you just never know when opportunities are going to present themselves.”
Kelce added that he feels "on top of the mountain, even after winning" his third Super Bowl in five years during the Chiefs' overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers in February.
Swift and Kelce initially went public with their relationship when she attended his game against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium last September. The three-time Super Bowl champion famously revealed that he attempted to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number when he attended her concert at Arrowhead Stadium prior to their relationship last summer.
Swift later said that Kelce "very adorably put me on blast" when he acknowledged the situation on his New Heights podcast, which she said "was metal as hell" while being featured as Time Magazine's 'Person of the Year' in December 2023.
