The Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII ring appears to have a typo as several fans pointed out after it was revealed during a ceremony Thursday (June 14) night.
The 14.8-carat rings, which include 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and are reported to be valued at $40,000 each, list the final scores of all four playoff games and opponent seeds, but falsely identified the No. 6 seed Miami Dolphins as the No. 7 seed in the AFC.
"I've only seen this one graphic so far, but... the Dolphins were definitely the 6-seed!" X user Joshua Brisco wrote with a photos of the ring explained in detail and the NFL Playoff bracket.
"The @Chiefs really gave all their players rings with a typo….Miami was a 6 seed, not a 7," X user @GoCoogs85 wrote. "Oof."
“A typo in a ring that costs this much is exactly the kind of mistake I would make and would never stop thinking of for the rest of my life,” X user Cody Tapp wrote.
FOX 4 DC sports anchor Harold R. Kuntz pointed out that the mistake may have only been included in a graphic error, rather than the actual rings, as well as the fact that the error may too expensive to fix, especially if the team was unbothered by it.
"Some have noted .. but the Dolphins were a 6 seed, not a 7. Hopefully, this is a graphic error and not an error on everyone's ring -- although they may not care and it would be an pretty big expense to change them all," Kuntz wrote on his X account.
The Chiefs are four months removed from winning their second consecutive Super Bowl and third in five years during a 25-22 overtime win against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII.
