LeBron James is showing his worth as his late-game heroics have lifted Team USA over a couple of scrub teams during their tune-up games leading up to the Olympics. With such a deep roster, LeBron doesn’t need to tire himself out and can focus on winning. Plus, his size and unselfish play are a better fit for the more team-oriented style played in FIBA. He’s no longer the best player in the NBA, but nobody can match him in the Olympics, not even his own teammates.
Doug Gottlieb: “Older players just win, and (LeBron James) doesn’t have to play big minutes ‘cause they have so many guys. So, if you wanted to say he’s the best player at playing FIBA style basketball, right now the answer is: yes!”
