Rich Davis: āA book is coming out about the decade Aaron Rodgers didnāt talk to his parents, and Rodgersā parents blaming it on Olivia Munn, his ex-girlfriend, saying that she got in the middle of the family.āĀ
Steve Covino: āThe story is that she would talk about their sex life publicly. It wasnāt in great detail; it was just references to it. But they also had issues ā because they were very religious ā about how they shared a bed and would be staying at hotels together, and the family had an issue with that. Even though theyāre entitled to having their beliefs and their views, thatās a little unrealistic for an NFL player in todayās world. You canāt share a room with his girlfriend?? The problem is on the parents. Ā
What is Aaron Rodgers supposed to do in that situation? Find someone to appease his mom who has crazy expectations? Theyāre entitled to them, theyāre nice, whatever, but itās just not conducive and doesnāt fit into todayās world. Especially when youāre dating a Hollywood person who is a public figure and youāre a professional NFL player. Just chalk it up to generational differences, and itās never ever easy. If it were up to MY mother and my motherās standards, Iād be dating a woman who wore a bonnet every day. āHEY, I MET THIS WOMAN FROM THE PRARIE, MOM! ARE YOU HAPPY??ā Like, cāmon, be realistic. Iām not saying anyone is right or wrong and I think people need to respect each other and accept that thereās going to be generational differences, and thereās a gap between an Olivia Munn and Ed and Darla. āEd and Darlaā, I havenāt met a Darla since like 1920-something. The generational differences are just too much. The parents are at fault because theyāre pointing fingers at Olivia and Aaron chose to not talk to his parents for ten years. Iām not trying to take sides here, but it seems to me that the parents were more difficult than Olivia.Ā
Iām not talking smack about Rodgersā parents, but who is the one exploiting their son with this story in the book right now? That doesnāt sound right to me. What kind of parents do that?Ā
Rodgers didnāt talk to his family for ten years because they made it so difficult for him and his relationship. Iām not saying Olivia Munn wasnāt a pain in the a**, because she probably was, but Iām Team Olivia here, because for Rodgers to then not talk to his family for ten years means they were really overstepping and made things more difficult than they had to. Itās not like theyāre wrong and sheās wrong, itās just a generation difference and not bending and understanding."
What was Aaron Rodgers supposed to do? Heās a guy in Hollywood partying with cool people. Heās supposed to date someone who is going to vibe with his ultra-religious mom?? Give me a break. The parentsā values seem unrealistic here. In todayās world itās not like that unfortunately. They didnāt even like them sleeping in the same bed. Itās 2024, even the Flintstones sleep in the same bed!āĀ
