The Kansas City Chiefs have an opportunity to make NFL history by defending their title this season and becoming the only team to win three straight Super Bowls, but there really is no pressure since it has never been done before. Additionally, the Chiefs aren’t the prohibitive favorites they have been in the past and expectations aren’t nearly as high. The lack of pressure plus the motivation to make history should have them uniquely focused on the ultimate prize.
Dan Patrick: “Is it motivational? Is it pressure to try to 3-peat? I think it might be motivation. I don’t find it pressure because nobody’s done it before. And I don’t know if people are still embracing the Chiefs and saying they are the team to beat.”
