John Wall Out For The Season With Ruptured Achilles Tendon

John Wall

Washington Wizards player John Wall has suffered an injury that occurred off the court this time. According to reports from Shams Charania of Stadium and the Athletic:

Wall suffered a torn Achilles tendon after slipping and falling in his home, team says.

He has undergone surgery and it's reported he'll be out for a year. This adds to a series of bad luck that continues to follow his career and whatever hope the Washington Wizards have had since they drafted the talented guard. This NBA continues to pass him by as players get younger, faster and focus on the 3 point shot championed by the Golden State Warriors.

It should be noted that this also hurts the Wizards financially. ESPN's Tim Bontemps reports:

Wall is likely to miss most, if not all, of next season — his first year of the four-year, $170 max contract extension he signed two summers ago.
