Watch Fox Sports and NFL Network analyst Peter Schrager release the full first round of his Mock Draft 1.0 with the April 25th 2024 NFL Draft exactly one week away.

Like many mock drafts, Schrager has a team trading up into the top five, with Shrager predicting that the Giants jump from no. 6 to no. 4 with the Arizona Cardinals to take Michigan quarterback JJ McCarthy.

McCarthy, once thought of as late-first round afterthought, has become the Draft’s biggest riser after a 15-0 perfect season for the National Championship-winning Wolverines. Despite throwing for under 3,000 yards in his final season in college and tossing just 22 touchdowns, McCarthy did rank 3rd nationally in QBR.

Unlike most mock drafts, Schrager believes the run on quarterbacks to open the draft will stretch to four, with Marvin Harrison, Jr. falling to no. 5 for the Los Angeles Chargers to select him in the wake of the off-season wide receiver exoduses of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Schrager surprisingly has the Cardinals taking Washington WR Rome Odunze with the no. 6 pick after the trade with the Giants, and thinks the Cardinals will be fully willing to let Harrison Jr. go no. 4 to another team.

Washington quarterback Michael Penix, Jr. was not on Schrager's round 1 mock, with Oregon’s Bo Nix being the fifth and final quarterback of the first round instead, going 23rd to the Minnesota Vikings.

Schrager believes eight wide receivers will be selected in the first round, which would break the previous NFL record of seven set in 2004 when the first round featured pass-catchers the likes of Larry Fitzgerald, Roy Williams, Reggie Williams, Lee Evans, Michael Clayton, Michael Jenkins, and Rashaun Woods.
