After following Villanova, Louisville, and Duke as the highest seeds to exit the NCAA Tournament, college basketball insider Doug Gottlieb thinks the popular title contender may have been the biggest disappointment, given their late-game collapse to no. 11 seed and Cinderella by default Xavier.
Gottlieb believes Arizona coach Sean Miller really suffered a bad L in this one, as the Wildcats lead quickly evaporated and made Miller appear like he lost control of his team in the critical moment of the game.
“It’s embarrassing for a guy everyone considers a great coach,” Gottlieb said. “I can’t fathom what went on with Arizona.”
