Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 -- Ramos Movie Review

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

They're all back, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2! Star -Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket and of course Baby Groot! They're all here!

The sequel from Disney, which opens Fri May 5th and is rated PG-13, continues the story of our heroes, only now they are well known as the Guardians around the universe, so things are even tougher.

Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) has his team saving valuable batteries for a Sovereign race and everything is all well and good. However, Rocket (Bradley Cooper) steals some of the batteries they are supposed to be protecting and now the Sovereign people are after the Guardians. Now the adventure really begins.

Oh, and did I mention that Star-Lord is still searching for his dad?

....You'll find out more about that when you see the movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was trying so hard to be Guardians of the Galaxy that, for me, it kind of lost the point by failing to create a better storyline.  It's almost like it was made solely to continue the Marvel timeline to get us to Thor and the Infinity series coming up.

Look GOG Vol2 as fun, and trust me when I say that  Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) and Rocket once again steal the show, but at 2 hours and 15 minutes, that's not a lot to keep you fully interested.  I am a big Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) fan, and for some reason I felt like I didn't get enough of him, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), or Drax (Dave Bautista). Maybe that was just me.

The music continues to kick ass but everything else seems to just sit there. Funny moments and scene stealers are there, but overall I felt GOG Vol 2 fell a little flat.  If you are a fan of Marvel and want to see all the goodies then trust me, you'll be there so this review won't change your mind.  If you are into big production movies then, again, this review will not change your mind, but I just hoped for more out of the characters.

Don’t get me wrong, GOG Vol 2 is not a bad movie... but it’s not a great movie.

Make the trek to GOG Vol2 if you want to just keep all the Marvel Movies in line, but for me, like Captain America Civil War, there wasn't a lot to this movie.

Sorry Chris Pratt, because I do think you're awesome just like Star-Lord thinks of David Hasselhoff.
