Could Derek Jeter be underrated?
When Dan Patrick posed the question to Yankees announcer Michael Kay, the answer was enough to warrant a serious discussion about the way Derek Jeter is perceived by fanbases outside of New York City, often times considering him more a product of legacy than a great player.
There are only five guys in the history of baseball with more hits than Jeter. He won 5 championships as the leader of a single team. Despite dating celebrities and being in the spotlight, he never made a mess in New York City. He did things the right way.
