Kevin Love is the movable part for the Cleveland Cavaliers if they want to compete against this currently constructed Warriors team for a title in 2018. It's plain and simple, and pretty much everyone in the Cavaliers front office knows it at this point.
From Ty Lue's comments after Game 5 all the way back to how Kevin Love handled his play during the series, it is clear to see that Love and Thompson can not play on the floor together in crunch time, which gives Cleveland a major issue to deal with. If they want to reload and be ready to compete next season, Love must go.
