Paul George and the Indiana Pacers are going to split. If it happens next summer, George will have to give up an addition $50 million that the Pacers can offer him on top of every other offer, which isn't unrealistic given his desire to play for the Lakers. If it happens this summer, the Pacers need to get as much back in return as possible and would need to find a team that would be okay taking a rental PG13 for one year.

The new Cavaliers GM basically has the ability to bring in one-year flyers on players that better his chances at a title right now, because (as explained in the full interview) he might be leaving in a season. This works for all parties.
