Bill Romanowski: Mike Mayock Was Only Reason Antonio Brown Hated Oakland

Pittsburgh Steelers v New England Patriots
Colin Cowherd: “I was told you were with Antonio Brown on Friday night, what happened with that?”
Bill Romanowski: “I was actually with him on Thursday. He was VERY unhappy. There is no doubt at that point that he wanted out. I went over there trying to be a friend and help him through this and share different challenges I had that maybe he could relate to… He wasn’t buying it. I think he was in on being a Raider. When he had his challenges in training camp I think he just wanted to know that the organization was on his side. I think he believed Jon Gruden was on his side, I think he believed that his teammates were on his side, but I don’t know if he believed that Mike Mayock was on his side… For that, he started being like ‘We’ll, why am I going to go out there and bust my ass if they’re not going to be on my side and fight for me?’” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to former Pro Bowl NFL linebacker Bill Romanowski join The Herd to talk about the Antonio Brown fallout with the Raiders, as the tumultuous short tenure AB had with the team will certainly go down as one of the most embarrassing moments in the franchise’s history.

Romanowski, who played on the Raiders for two seasons in 2002 and 2003 to end his storied career, told Colin Cowherd that he was actually with Antonio Brown at his house on Thursday night as the standoff between AB and the Raiders had reached its boiling point.

Romanowski explains why he thinks AB was actually fully on-board with being a member of the Raiders, despite some in the media saying he went out of his way to sabotage his stay with the team.

Check out the audio below as Romanowski details why it was Raiders GM Mike Mayock who caused the disconnect that triggered Brown going nuclear in his final days with the team.
