Colin Cowherd: Dak Prescott Has Turned into a 'Garbage Time' Specialist

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why the Dallas Cowboys could be heading towards franchise Armageddon with the impending free agency of Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

In a make-or-break year for Prescott, he has certainly ‘secured the bag’ from a statistical standpoint. He’s led the league in passing yards all season, completing 65.5% of his throws, and he ranks third in the NFL in passing touchdowns.

The problem? He’s 6-7 on perhaps the most quarterback-friendly situation in football with one of the best offensive lines of the decade, two Pro Bowl caliber receivers, an All-Pro running back who is the highest paid at his position, a Hall of Fame tight end, and playing in the NFL’s least competitive division.

The Cowboys lost their third straight game in Thursday Night Football’s uncontested 31-24 loss to the Bears that dropped Dallas’ record under .500 for the first time this season.

Prescott entered the fourth quarter with only 106 passing yards but added another 238 garbage time yards with the Bears holding onto a commanding lead and committing three straight 3-and-outs while conservatively running the ball every time.

Check out the video above as Colin details why Dak has turned into a garbage time quarterback who can only flourish when everything is going Dallas’ way: i.e. the defense and running game balling out.
