Twenty-four hours after former LSU star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. made headlines for apparently handing out real money to LSU players in the locker room after their National Championship victory over Clemson, the Browns troublemaker is now he’s facing arrest for spanking a cop.
An arrest warrant for simple battery has been issued to Beckham by New Orleans Police, who slapped a police officer on the butt in the LSU locker room while the cop was warning Tigers players that they could be arrested for smoking in the locker room of the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
In the video that has now gone viral on Twitter, the officer is seen talking to LSU right guard Damien Lewis as Lewis and a handful of other LSU players smoke victory cigars. That's when Beckham comes over to the police officer and slaps his rear end. As the officer turns around to exchange words with OBJ, you can then hear Beckham beaming 'Get the gat! Get the gat!'
The Browns quickly issued a statement Thursday:
“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the mater. They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation.”
