Colin Cowherd: Packers Are Already Phasing Aaron Rodgers Out of Green Bay

Colin Cowherd: “Teams will tell you what they think of their quarterback in the Draft. If he’s immobile? More offensive linemen. If he’s got a big arm? More skilled players… Green Bay told you what they think; not only did they draft a quarterback who won’t play for 3 years, not only did they draft a running back with their second pick, and then 3 of their next 4 picks being interior lineman, but they also did not draft a wide receiver. What is it saying? The new coach is saying ‘I’m not building around Aaron, we’re building around a running game.’ The new coach is building an offense that is going to look a lot like the 49ers’. Multiple sets, heavy reliance on running the football, and setting up play action passes for Jimmy Garoppolo/Aaron Rodgers. You bailed on your last coach and you’re new coach doesn’t want to build around you either… The new guy wants you to be more Jimmy G than Patrick Mahomes… They don’t think Aaron can match up in the firework shows and they don’t trust him.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Green Bay Packers made it pretty obvious over the weekend that they no longer think Aaron Rodgers can perform at a high level like he once could during the prime of his career.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks the Packers coaching staff and front office purposely devised a plan on Draft day that would begin building towards a new offense that would largely phase Rodgers out of many responsibilities, as Colin believes Rodgers will get Jimmy Garoppolo'ed next year for his own good.
