Jason Whitlock: LeBron James’ Legacy Will Be Ruining the NBA With Politics

Clay Travis: “The NBA had 4.5 million viewers for the Finals, which was down nearly 70% off last year’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals. It aired on ABC so you can’t blame people for not having cable. This was the least watched NBA Finals game on record in 40 years… You wrote an interesting column at Outkick and said you think LeBron’s legacy is basically going to be that he tore down the league that Michael, Larry, and Magic all left. It’s pretty wild to see, isn’t it?”

Jason Whitlock: “It’s going to be hard to call yourself the GOAT if your legacy is ‘I diminished the league and made it less popular.’ That certainly wasn’t Michael Jordan’s legacy, it wasn’t Bill Russell’s legacy, and it wasn’t Magic Johnson and Larry Bird’s legacy. My thoughts on LeBron go much bigger than just the NBA. His impact is on all of professional sports because so many of these players look to him as the leader. There’s been so much bull-spit spewed in the mainstream sports media on all the debate shows about ‘player empowerment’ and how it’s such a great thing for the league. It’s just not true… LeBron is taking these guys on a path to hell… Whoever the 15, 16, 17, or 18-year-old athletes are, those are the guys who are going to be damaged by this. They’re not going to make nearly as much money coming into the NBA, and will be coming into a league that is certainly not as popular domestically as it has been, and that’s on LeBron James.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Jason Whitlock join Clay Travis on Outkick the Coverage to explain why he thinks LeBron James’ legacy will ultimately be a tarnished one that included diminishing the popularity of the NBA and professional sports as a whole, as Whitlock believes LeBron's obsessive desire to his push his own personal politics on the brains of unconsenting fans has irreplaceably damaged the future of the league forever.

2020 NBA Finals ratings have been down nearly 70% compared to last season when the Warriors played the Raptors.

Check out the segment above as Whitlock details why he thinks LeBron has ‘destroyed’ the goodwill with fans that former legends like Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird had built up in the 80’s and 90’s when the NBA was enjoying its best viewership seasons ever.
