Colin Cowherd: Dak Prescott's NFL Career is Officially on the Line

Colin Cowherd: “Dak Prescott says ‘turning 30, there’s a real sense of urgency.' Dak has urgency the next two years and age doesn’t have anything to do with it. Less than a year away, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Michael Penix Jr. , all ‘A’ prospects, may all end up in the NFC because all the potentially awful teams are mostly in the NFC. Dak is not young nor cheap, nor is he a superstar talent, and that’s how you win Super Bowls. He’s a reflection of his roster more than he elevates it. He is the longest tenured quarterback for any team in the league and I know exactly what he is. It is ridiculous to think he’s going to ‘pop’ this year. You don’t think Kirk Cousins is going to ‘pop’ this year because you know what Kirk Cousins is. They’re the same guy, look at their numbers. His urgency is seizing the NFC in the next two years because it will change by the time a Caleb Williams or Drake Maye is in year two. Dak used to compete against Russell Wilson in his prime; he’s gone and replaced by Geno Smith. He used to compete against Aaron Rodgers; he’s gone and it’s Jordan Love. He used to compete against Tom Brady; he’s gone and he has Baker Mayfield to compete against. Outside of Jalen Hurts you kind of feel like Dak is as good as everybody else in the NFC. Dak needs to be ‘urgent’ the next two years because there’s only one way you’re winning Super Bowls—young, talented, and cheap quarterback, he’s not that, or superstar talent, and he’s not that. You’ve got a one or two-year window, I think he’s got two.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Colin Cowherd discuss Dak Prescott turning 30 years old and why he believes this will be Dak’s last hurrah to compete for the NFC Championship.

Check out the segment above as Colin details why Prescott’s career will be on the line this season in a historically bad NFC that no longer has Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, or Russell Wilson competing in it.
