Worker Dies After Falling From Roof of New Chargers/Rams SoFi Stadium

As of today, construction on SoFi Stadium has been temporarily halted after a worker on-site died from a fall while working on the building, the Los Angeles Times is reporting. According to the Times, the fall was from 50 to 60 feet high in the southwest corner of the stadium.

ESPN has also confirmed the report, saying the worker fell from a roof. SoFi Stadium was slated to open in July for Taylor Swift’s tour, but was postponed due to the coronavirus. When the stadium is completed, it’s expected to cost more than $5 billion, the most expensive stadium in the NFL. Both the Rams and Chargers will play their home games there.

This is the first known incident that has resulted in a death at the construction site.
