Charles Barkley Makes Controversial Comments on Breonna Taylor Shooting

Charles Barkley: “It's bad the young lady lost her life, but we do have to take into account that her boyfriend did shoot at the cops, and shot a cop. So like I said, even though I’m really sorry she lost her life, I don’t think we can just say we can put this in the same situation with George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, I just don't believe that.” (Video Above)

Inside the NBA host Charles Barkley made headlines Thursday night for his take on the Breonna Taylor shooting that appeared to oppose the viewpoints of most players in the NBA.

Barkley brought up specific details of the Taylor case, ones that haven’t been disputed by either side, of Taylor’s boyfriend shooting at police during the fateful night of March 13th, 2020 when Taylor was fatally wounded in the crossfire of bullets between her boyfriend and police.

Barkley said for that reason, we shouldn’t be comparing Taylor’s situation to the deaths of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery, whose killings didn’t involve such controversial extra-curriculars.

Later in the telecast (video below) Barkley would blast media members pushing a ‘Defund the Police’ narrative, saying ‘Who are Black people supposed to call? Ghostbusters??’ and later adding ‘White people, especially rich White people, they're always going to have cops, so we need to stop this defund or abolish the cops crap.’
