Danny Kanell: Lamar Jackson Will Plummet in the Draft

“Lamar Jackson is going to be the steal of the Draft because I think he’s going to drop like a rock, unfortunately, because he didn’t run the 40. I don’t like it, but the NFL is risk-adverse and they don't like guys who think or do something differently.”

Colin Cowherd and Danny Kanell debated the professional prospects of Lamar Jackson, as the electric Louisville Heisman-winning quarterback is going into April’s Draft as one of the most fascinating college players in Draft history.

Even though Lamar Jackson rushed for over 4,000 yards and 50 TDs in his three-year career in the NCAA, the dynamic dual-threat quarterback controversially refused to the run the 40-yard at his Pro Day this week in apparent resistance to NFL scouts and GMs who may have wanted to use the 40 times to evaluate his potential as a WR; a position change Jackson has vehemently shot down considering.

Even though Kanell thinks Jackson could be the next Michael Vick with proper teaching, the current radio host and Florida State QB thinks Jackson went about his Pro Day the wrong way, and should have run the 40 to prove he’s as fast as we all want to think he is, and prove he’s 100% healthy.
