Clay Travis: Why Does Barstool's Dave Portnoy Hate Me?

Barstool Sports contributor Kirk Minihane joined Outkick The Coverage to talk about one of the media’s juiciest and yet most misunderstood beefs currently ongoing between Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, and Outkick the Coverage founder Clay Travis.

The two recently crossed paths this week as a PR firm who allegedly represents Barstool Sports reached out to Clay asking if his Outkick Show could have Portnoy on to talk about him being kicked out of Super Bowl Media Day. The PR firm obviously wasn't aware of the fued, but it triggered a wave of comedy on Twitter when Clay posted a screen grab of the email. Portnoy apparently wasn't laughing, and the next day went on his podcast and went on a 12-minute tirade ripping Clay, Minihane said.

Clay thinks the feud is a rather one-sided affair, and says the only time he hears from Portnoy now is when he’s taking unexpected pot shots at Clay on Twitter. Clay says he tried to approach Portnoy at last year’s U.S. Open in Shinnecock Hills, NY to bury the hatchet between the two, but Portnoy refused the olive branch. Clay says Portnoy, who’s just three years old than Clay, once offered him a job to work at Barstool, but is now stern in his pursuit to methodically troll Clay any time he can get.
