Ben Simmons is the Future of the Philadelphia 76ers, NOT Joel Embiid

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes the Philadelphia 76ers will soon find their franchise at a crossroads regarding their two star players Joel Embiid & Ben Simmons much like the Oklahoma City found themselves in the early 2010’s when they had Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden.

Even though Colin isn’t the biggest fan of Simmons, who he called the 'most disappointing player in the league' earlier this week, Colin thinks Simmons’ game has hit a snag because of Joel Embiid clogging up the middle, and says Simmons flourishes with an empty lane that allows him to effectively penetrate and pass out to three point shooters.

In Embiid's absence in Game 3 Simmons had the best scoring game of his entire season, netting 31 points of 11-13 shooting and 9 assists against a Brooklyn team whose fans had put up 'MISSING' posters all around the Barclays Center wondering where Simmons' game had gone. Colin thinks Embiid's injury made it clear that Simmons simply can't flourish with the fan favorite 7-footer on the court at the same time.

Check out the audio below as Colin thinks the Sixers will ultimately choose Ben over Joel, and says the future of the NBA isn’t with centers, but with shooters and guys who can GET THE BALL to those shooters.
