Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green told reporters that being a father has forced him to dial back his emotional reactions on the court because he watched his young son emulating some of his bad habits.
“He played on his little hoop and then like stomped around. I liked the intensity, but slow it down,” Green said. “I realized how impressionable the kids are at the ages they’re at. [I] just really wanted to be a good example to them and show them the right thing.”
Green explained that the became concerned when he watched Draymond Jr. flopping and told him to stop watching the NBA.
“My son was playing, he was shooting and flopping,” Green said. “I said, ‘You gotta stop watching the NBA.’ He was falling on the floor like, ‘Oh Dad, help me up!’ Like, ‘What you flopping for?’”
Green, who posted his ninth postseason triple-double in a 110-99 victory against the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals, is hoping to help the Warriors return to the NBA finals for the fifth consecutive season.
